What are Unscripted Portraits?
Unscripted Portraits are shorter, low-pressure sessions that still feel like art. Think of them as the younger sibling to my signature fine art heirloom portraits. They’re designed for one person at a time, so the focus stays fully on you. There’s no need to worry about coordinating outfits, wrangling kids, or trying to match a vibe that isn’t yours.
Just show up as the version of yourself you live with every day. Or dress to the nines. Totally up to you!
I’ll handle the posing, the light, and the flattering angles. You just have to show up.

Is this a mini session?
You can think of it like that! Unscripted gives you a taste of my full heirloom portrait experience at a lower cost. It’s great for when you want a few elevated portraits that still feature my expert, fine art editing, but you don’t want to make the commitment to deeper storytelling or museum-quality wall art.
Will this still look like your usual fine art work?
Yes! From the examples on this page, you’ll see that the lighting and editing is in line with the rest of my portfolio. You’ll be photographed on my favorite, dark textured backdrop. While I won’t be providing styling, you are welcome to dress and accessorize as you wish!
What kind of occasions are right for this?

Is there anyone who wouldn't be a fit?
Keeping in mind that this experience is for a single individual, it’s not meant for families.
I also do not have expertise or the necessary equipment for newborns/infants. Children should be able to sit/stand on their own and be able to take direction.
What if I have multiple children?
Please book back-to-back sessions.
Is your studio a welcoming space?
Absolutely! It is important to me that everyone, regardless of gender, ability, race, creed or any other identifying characteristic feels comfortable. Being in front of the camera can be nerve-wracking enough for some; you won’t have to worry about feeling accepted.
- Everyone is welcome in my studio, so long as they are kind.
- I’m here to celebrate you and capture you as you are.
- There is on-site parking with handicap accessible space.
Every time someone enters the space for the first time, they always remark how cozy the studio is. I made sure that it would be like visiting a friend – because now I am one!
What should I wear?
Whatever you want … really!

- A sundress you pull out every spring because it feels like sunshine
- Your favorite band tee that has been washed more times than you can count
- A jersey from your favorite sports team
- Your hobby self (bring your trumpet, an apron covered in paint, yarn basket full of WIPs, or rock your bicycle helmet)
Will I get to choose my images?
I’ve perfected the art of choosing the best of the bunch, so you can rest assured the photos I choose to deliver are going to be phenomenal. Just ask anyone who has had an heirloom portrait experience with me – they ALWAYS end up going with my favorites!
How will I receive my photos?
You will receive digital copies of your final images that are sized optimally for sharing on social media, as well as to be printed up to 8×10. You’re welcome to print at the facility of your choosing, however, you do so at your own risk. I cannot guarantee the color and quality of any prints not printed through the studio. If you would like to have your photos printed in a collection box or as wall art, I would be more than happy to discuss your options!
